![]() because you would have to agree to only use the gateway at the address where it is registered to. however can tmo really tell the difference when it is a mere three blocks distance between each home (and presumedly in range of the same local towers) as in your case unless if they also check exact gps for the gateway? but my guess technically if they find your gateway is consistently at the wrong address location according to gps (even if connected to the correct towers?), then they could say you are in violation of terms and shut you down. but me looking at maybe getting wireless point-to-point home internet with jelly digital internet to fully get away from cox.)ĭrawback of using parents address yet actually use at your home address is if tmo eventually does an audit of which towers have home internet gateways technically registered for those towers and which are not. (meanwhile keeping the cox internet at my main home needless to say. anyways eventually got the tmo home internet for my mom house and it has been on for at least a week. also would not be surprised if they say up to certain streets can get but others cannot get as a shorthand way to divide/ration capacity to not overload towers with too many home internet users who also have to compete with smartphone users. have seen this where they say not available for my mom's house but open it up later like a week later but then close and later open etc etc etc when maybe(?) they open up additional capacity for more home internet users (or if such users drop out). me would also say it could be timing if too many people signed up. yet what the other explanation says as to how the towers are pointed towards each house kinda makes sense (because of where you place the tmo gateway in your home & which way you rotate the gateway to try to get better reception). but with your houses being only three blocks apart seems nonsensical about one qualifying and the other not. my guess is MAYBE because my main house is in an older neighborhood and so maybe the towers nearer there are not really that nearby (and not as strong) and/or are not set up for home internet(?) for that neighborhood even if getting 5G on phones. Same for me where my main home location not available but my mom's house is available even if both are within a mile of each other. ![]()
